Hi again, I wanted to let you know (and I will be posting this on each cemetery that I have calculated the birthdate if it has the death date and the age in years months and days. I have calculated the year of birth if it has age of death. I am trying to give you as much information as possible. plus I have gone to the death index and social security death index to see if the people are listed if there is just a year of birth and death and I have gone to the marriage index to find a maiden name in some cases. I hope with me doing all of this it will help you in your research. Shawnnee

According to the 1850 Census (Hancock Co, IL) he was born in NY in 1804-1805. He came to IL before 1840 as he was listed in Hancock Co., IL in 1840, also. He married Elvira Van Tassel. I don't know when or where. They were parents of Margaret Angeline, and twins, William and Wilson. Elvira died in 1850. William married Lucinda Gearhard in 1851. I believe he may have been married before Elvira. There was a Mary M. Loomis who married John J. Hicok. She may have been a relative of William. His parents came from Baden, Germany to America in 1852, and settled in St. Louis, where they resided for two years, and then removed to the old Mormon town of Nauvoo in Illinois, where his father, now seventy-seven years old, still resides. Mr. Buamert's mother died in 1868, and his father is married the second time. John was born in Baden Germany, in the year 1839. He attended German schools for three years in the old country, and then was sent to German school in St. Louis for two years. He never received any regular English training in the schools, but has acquired a good knowledge of English by his own efforts, and reads and writes English with ease. In 1858 he left Nauvoo, Ill., and went to Crittenden County, Ky. In 1862 he was married to Sarah Ann Atkins, who came to this State in 1854. He had five children by her, two of whom, John B. and Charles E., are still living. Prev! ious to coming to Union County in 1866, he was engaged in running engines, but in February of 1867 he was appointed overseer of the mine tipple at the Shotwell Mines, and has been in that position ever since. He was married the second time in 1874 to Mary E. Eisenbart, who was born at Bell's Mines, but at that time was living at De Koven. She has borne him six children, five of whom are still alive. Their names are Lottie L., Julia M., Lillie M., Frederick E. and Henrietta. He enlisted in the Federal army toward the close of the war in 1865, but was never engaged in any battles. He had three brothers in the Federal army, and one of them died with a congestive chill the day before he was to be discharged. Mr. Baumert has held the office of School Trustee for twelve years, and is a member of the Old School Presbyterian Church, which is the communion of his ancestors. He is a Knight of Honor and an Odd Fellow, holding at the present the office of Noble Grand in the I.O.! O.F. Performing his duties faithfully, he has won the esteem and conf idence of his employers, and is entrusted with a responsible position on account of his eminent qualifications for it.
