Hi Marcia, I hope all of you who are reading these histories know that I did not write them. I am just typing what is in the history of the Hancock County histories by Warren L. Van Dine. Charles Scholfield and Mr. Siegfried. I have to leave the language as written but I can add a note at the bottom of the list. Shawnee, http://www.rootsweb.com/~ilhancoc/Joetta.html John McKenzie lived and probably did die at Joetta, but Lower Cemetery is not in Hancock County. It is located in the SE Quartersection of Section 23, Colchester Township, McDonough County, Illinois. Marcia Farina

RE: Thornber Cemetery Shawnee, all your posted data lines up perfectly with mine. One interment you listed with only date of death is Thomas Thornber. Full information on him is: Thomas Thornber, died September 4, 1957 (full name, Thomas William Thornber), was born 1 May 1884 in Powelltown, Hancock co., IL., son of William Henry Thornber and Luanna L. Lewis (grandson of Morgan R. Lewis and Mary Ann Downing). Ray Downing, Las Vegas
