    3. Hi Trev, I have many cemeteries from Hamilton Co in which I have pictures, hoping to get online soon. My kids are very active in school which takes up so much of my time! Our goal is to have all of Hamilton Co put online including photos by the fall, maybe sooner. I am in the process of moving my Hamilton Co site as Geocities just isn't working out anymore. Crisel should be online complete with photos along with Bethel in Ham Co. I haven't checked lately though, they may have disappeared! I have about 10 other cemeteries completed with photos, just need to get them done! My goal is get them online as we have done Jefferson Co. I have several folks who have volunteered to help me finish up. I have no plans of making a book or doing anything for profit as it is my goal to keep genealogy free and as accessable to folks as I can. -Misty- ----- Original Message ----- From: "Trev" <thward@cafes.net> To: <ILHAMILT-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Tuesday, March 19, 2002 7:14 AM Subject: [ILHAMILT-L] Re: opinion needed for new cemetery inscription w/pictures book > > > I am thinking about publishing cemetery inscription books with pictures of > > every stone of Hamilton County cemeteries... > > > > What I need from you all is your opinions about this; whether you would > > purchase this sort of book; if it would be something that would be useful > to > > you in your research...etc.. > > > > Also if this is something that you are interested in-- I would need > requests > > for cemeteries that you would like to have in each book. > > Well, there has been ongoing census transcription projects (2) to put all of > Hamilton Co's cemeteries online for research...with the majority already > available at these two URL's... > > http://www.geocities.com/Heartland/Meadows/5807/ > > http://www.carolyar.com/Illinois/HamiltonCounty.htm > > At the first URL Misty had been trying to link each transcription with a > picture of the headstone and a pic of the church (which reminds me, I have > several for the southern Ham cemeteries headstones, about 4 rolls of film, > if I can get my darn scanner going). 1. [ILHAMILT-L] courthouse files

    3. Hi all, Last week several folks discussed the refusal of the Hamilton Co. courthouse personnel to allow photocopying of indexes or many other items in the clerk's office. Has anyone filed a formal Freedom of Information Act request or have all contacts been informal? I am certainly not an expert in this field but other than charging 35 cents a page for photocopying and claiming privacy for anything newer than 1920 I don't see that they have a basis to deny the request, if the requester does the copying themselves or has their agent to do so. I don't want to get anyone in trouble or angry at me but these folks are supposed to serve the public, including genealogists.
