    1. [ILHAMILT-L] respecting living people's privacy
    2. I think limiting the time frame that records are copied is a very good thing and we really should follow the standard rule of respecting people's privacy; now, having said that; I would say that by the most part, the majority of us are not looking for data regarding folks born in or after 1900. I would venture a guess that for the most part we are hunting for data on those that were in the 19th century. I know that the Taylors, Mcmahons , Lowerys and so on that I am hunting were born round about 1806 to 1900. Haven't been fortunate enough to track down grandchildren of my families that were born in say, 1806 to 1888. I would also venture a guess that if Hamilton county would condescend to allow photo copies of data in the time frame that would protect any possibly living beings, we'd be supportive and understanding of that. Also, we need to always be courteous and so on to the clerks who serve us. They are employees and must do as they've been told. Perhaps being courteous and yet making polite requests, etc, we could build up a rapport with those clerks and possibly get them to go to bat for us. Don't get me wrong I am not for one minute suggesting any genealogist is rude or presuming with those clerks. CM
