    3. Funniest thing ! I have a letter from Southern Illinois Normal University (Carbondale) dated June of 1946. The letter is written to my grandfather, Judge Sid Ward of Benton, Illinois. In effect it says "We have recently received from Judge Layman (Franklin County History buff) a scrapbook that was kept by your grandmother, the late, Mrs. Lavicia Espy. We were extremely glad to receive this scrapbook. It is a material addition to our collection concerning the "Willimason Vendetta" and the Ku Klux Klan." I tried to locate the scrapbook when I was in Carbondale.....no luck, my visit was short, and it was summer time with few students and employees on campus. Does anyone know if there are any records of membership or records of any kind of the organization during that time? Thank you in advance for any help on this. > > > > --------------------------------- > Do You Yahoo!? > New! SBC Yahoo!
