    3. Alfred Frank Aydt, 81, of Dahlgren, passed away at 11:20 a.m. Monday, Jan. 9, 2012, at Hamilton Memorial Hospital Nursing Home in McLeansboro. He was born May 24, 1930, in Piopolis to Charles Theodore Aydt and Katherine Christine (Rubenacker) Aydt. He was a laborer at A.E. Stanley Manufacturing Co. in Decatur, and past partner of Aydt Hardware in McLeansboro. He served in the United States Army in Korea. He was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Piopolis. He is survived by two brothers, Leo Aydt and wife Patsy of McLeansboro and Robert Lee Aydt and wife Mary Ann of Dahlgren; and a sister, Sister Agnes Therese Aydt, S.S.N.D., St. Louis. He was preceded in death by his parents and his god child and nephew, Rodney Ray Aydt. Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Harre Funeral Home in McLeansboro. A prayer service will be held at 7 p.m. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Piopolis with Fr. Slawomir Ptak and monsignor Joseph Lawler officiating. Interment will follow at St. John the Baptist Catholic Cemetery in Piopolis, with graveside military rites accorded by American Legion Post #106 in McLeansboro and the military honors team from Marion. Memorials may be made to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital and will be accepted at Harre Funeral Home. Harre Funeral Home in McLeansboro is in charge of all arrangements.
