Richard L. Ritchey, age 58, of Auxvasse, Missouri and a former resident of Mt. Vernon, Illinois, passed away 2:55 p.m. Friday, June 22, 2012 at his home in Auxvasse, Missouri surrounded by his family. Richard was born January 13, 1954 in McLeansboro, Illinois. He married Janet K. (Eiler) on January 13, 1979 in Salem, IL; She survives in Auxvasse. Mr. Ritchey was a graduate of the Mt. Vernon Township High School, Rend Lake College and SIU Edwardsville. He was a Quality Control Analyst and production manager for Covidien. Also he worked as a coal miner and plumber. Richard was a member of the Cornerstone Baptist Church in Jefferson City, Missouri. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He is survived by his wife, Jan K. Ritchey of Auxvasse, MO; three children, Melissa Reeves and husband Tyler of Waltonville, Melinda Clark and husband Kenny of Parma, MO and Mark Ritchey of Auxvasse, MO; three grandchildren, Derek T. Reeves, Lindsey E. Reeves and Nicholas. W. Clark and also by his mother Ruth Delores (Ingram) Ritchey. He was preceded in death by his father, Arley Leroy Ritchey. Memorial service for Richard L. Ritchey will be held 1 p.m. Thursday, June 28, 2012 at the Cornerstone Baptist Church (4930 Old Lohman Road Jefferson City, Missouri 65109) with Pastor Brian Credille officiating. Graveside funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Friday, June 29, 2012 at Pleasant Hill Cemetery in rural Mt. Vernon, Illinois with Mr. Ronnie Mick and Mr. Mark Ritchey officiating. Friends are asked to go directly to the Cemetery on Friday. For those who wish memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society Relay for Life at Mizzou and will be accepted at the Funeral Home.
