— — Mildred E. Erwin, 87, of Benton, formerly of Dahlgren, died 8:05 a.m. Thursday, June 28, 2012, at Herrin Hospital in Herrin. She was born June 4, 1925, in Robison County, Tenn., daughter of William W. and Lena K. (Hamsley) Mangrum. She married Dwight K. Erwin on Nov. 11, 1944; and he preceded her in death. She was a homemaker and a member of Middle Creek Baptist Church. She is survived by sons, Kenneth Erwin of Benton, Ronald Erwin of Benton, Curtis (Marie) Erwin and Douglas (Tammy) Erwin of Benton; daughters, Deloris (James) Mayberry of Sailor Springs, Joyce (Daniel) Bennett of Ohio, Phyllis Erwin of Benton and Audrey Meracle of Benton; sister, Helen Jean Burke of Mt. Vernon; brothers, Bud Mangrum of Arizona and Ed Mangrum of Illinois; 24 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two brothers, two sisters, three grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Monday at Gholson Funeral Home with the Rev. Kenneth Holland officiating. Interment will be at Middle Creek Cemetery. Visitation will be 10 a.m. until the time of service Monday at Gholson Funeral Home. Memorials may be given to the donor’s choice and will be accepted at Gholson Funeral Home
