VERNON - - Judith M. Metheney, 84, of McLeansboro, died 4:12 a.m. Thursday, March 8, 2012, at Hamilton Memorial Nursing Center in McLeansboro. She was born Oct. 2, 1927, in Benton, the daughter of Omer and Nora (Norris) Williams. She married Charles Ray Metheney; he preceded her in death. Mrs. Metheney is survived by her son, Rick Metheney and close companion Rhonda Laswell of McLeansboro; a granddaughter, Jessica Metheney of Carmi; and two great-grandsons, Coby and Jalen Allen. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; a son, Gordon Ray Metheney; a granddaughter, Ashley Jo Metheney; and five brothers, Byford, Kirby, Francis, Don and Bill Williams. Mrs. Metheney was a clerk at Montgomery Wards for many years. She is a member of the Church of God in McLeansboro and loved the outdoors. Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Sunday at Harre Funeral Home in McLeansboro with the Rev. Robert Sefried officiating. Burial will be at Antioch Cemetery in Macedonia. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday at Harre Funeral Home.
