Billie Joe Funkhouser, age 82, of Centralia passed away Tuesday, March 6th at his home. Mr. Funkhouser was the manager of 10 gas stations for Circle K in Phoenix, AZ for 10 years. He moved here in 1992, previously living in Lemont, IL and Phoenix, AZ. He served as a Private in the US Army from 1947 to 1950. Funeral service will be held on Friday, March 9th at 7:00pm at Irvin Funeral Home in Centralia with Pastor James Funkhouser officiating. Committal service will be held on Saturday at 2:00pm at Glen Oaks - Oakridge Cemetery in Hillside, IL with military rites accorded at the grave by the U.S. Army. Friends may call on Friday from 5:00pm until 7:00pm at the funeral home. Irvin Funeral Home in Centralia is in charge of arrangements. Survivors include his sons, Dennis Crooks and wife Gail of New Lenox, Don Funkhouser and wife Betty of McLeansboro, Robert Crooks and significant other Cindy of Lombard, Jeff Funkhouser of McLeansboro, Larry Green and wife Luella of Centralia; daughters, Nancy Wade of Denver, NC and Helen Teets and husband Grant of Salem; sister, Elizabeth Overby of Benton; special friend, Daniel Ray of Centralia; 33 grandchildren; 32 great grandchildren; and 17 great great grandchildren.
