Beth Holyfield, 47, passed away at 11:31 p.m. Monday, March 12, 2012, in Pinckneyville Community Hospital Emergency Room. Beth was born May 19, 1964, in Du Quoin, a daughter to William "Bill" E. and Patsy (Smith) Davis. On Oct. 1, 1994, she married Daren Holyfield in Oakdale, and he survives. She was a homemaker and a member of Concord Baptist Church, Rice. Beth loved working at the church, studying her Bible and playing Bible Trivia. She was a loving mother and stepmother, a wonderful daughter and will be dearly missed by all who knew her. Survivors include her husband, Daren Holyfield of Pinckneyville; father and stepmother, Bill and Ladine Davis of Sims; father-in-law and mother-in-law, O.V. and Lola Holyfield of Rockport, Ind.; a son, Willie D. Holyfield of Pinckneyville; a daughter, Harley N. Holyfield of Pinckneyville; two stepsons, Daren O. Holyfield of Bonne Terre, Mo., and Billy R. Holyfield of Corning, Ark.; a stepbrother, Robert Hungate of McLeansboro; two stepsisters, Deborah (Richard) Linder of Eldorado and Karla (Chris) Mossman of Equality; two uncles, Robert L. (La Deana) Davis of Wayne City and Jimmie W. (Carolyn) Davis of Pinckneyville; and numerous stepnieces, stepnephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her mother, Patsy Davis; and grandparents, Willie and Irene Davis. Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 17, in Concord Baptist Church in Rice. Interment will be in Concord Cemetery in Rice. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday and 8 to 11 a.m. Saturday at the church. Memorial donations may be made to Concord Baptist Church, Rice.
