Orval Reed 87-year-old McLeansboro resident, Orval Reed, died at 5:55 a.m. Tuesday, March 20 at McLeansboro Health Care & Rehab Center in McLeansboro. He was manager of Johns Mansville in Waukegan, IL. He served in the Military Police, U.S. Air Force during WW II as a Private; and received three European Overseas bars; African/Middle Eastern Theater Ribbon; one Silver Star; two Bronze Stars; WW II Victory Medal; and a Distinguished Unit Badge. Surviving are three brothers, LeRoy Reed of North Chicago, IL, Robert Lewis Reed of Mt. Vernon, IL and Curt Reed of McLeansboro; one sister, Pearl Blackwell of Ina; and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services for Orval Reed will be at 3 p.m. Thursday, March 22 at the Harre Funeral Home in McLeansboro. Burial will be in Pine View Memorial Park at Beach Park, IL. Visitation will be from 1 p.m. Thursday, March 22 until the time of service at the Harre Funeral Home in McLeansboro.
