Brianna Mae Karnes, 6, died at 7:47 p.m. Tuesday, March 13, 2012, in Marshall Browning Hospital in Du Quoin as a result of injuries received in an auto accident. She was born Sept. 26, 2005, in Marion, to Brian M. and Glenda (Browder) Karnes. She was a kindergarten student. Services will be at 1 p.m. Sunday, March 18, 2012, in Gholson Funeral Home in McLeansboro, with the Rev. Paul Reynolds officiating. Burial will be in Brady Cemetery in Akin. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Survivors include her parents, Brian Karnes of Macedonia and Glenda Karnes of Sesser; paternal grandparents Daniel and wife, Cynthia, Karnes of Sesser and Karla Karnes of Kansas City, Mo.; brother Brian M. Karnes II of Sesser; and several aunts, uncles and cousins. Memorials may be made to Brianna Mae Karnes Scholarship Fund or the family and will be accepted at Gholson Funeral Home.
