Jeffrey David Johnson, 56, McLeansboro, passed away 10:30 a.m. Thursday, April 26, 2012, at McLeansboro Rehabilitation & Health Care Center. Mr. Johnson was a drywaller. He was born May 4, 1955, in Pensacola, Fla., a son of Bobby Joe and Osa (Branthover) Johnson. There will be no public services; a private spreading of ashes will be held in Michigan at a later date. Survivors include his stepfather, Wayne Newsome of Belleville, Mich.; loving ex-wife Patricia Francisco of McLeansboro; two brothers, Bobby Joe Johnson of Moreland, Ind., and Daniel Johnson of Laceter, Wash.; one sister, Donna Richard of Ann Arbor, Mich.; one stepbrother, Jeff Newsome and wife Sally of Jackson, Mich.; and five grandsons, Jonah Hobbsick, Aaron Scott and Slade, Wolfgang and Wyatt Redman. Jeffrey loved cooking and tinkering. He was preceded in death by his parents.
