Vauda L. Stewart, 90, of McLeansboro, died 3:28 a.m. Thursday, May 3, 2012, at McLeansboro Healthcare & Rehabilitation Center. She was born Dec. 1, 1921, in Hamilton County, the daughter of George and Dorothy (Stocker) Wheeler. She married Frank Stewart; he preceded her in death. Mrs. Stewart is survived by a daughter-in-law, Betty Ruth Stewart of McLeansboro; and a grandson, Jason Stewart of McLeansboro. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband. Mrs. Stewart was a retired seamstress at the former Elder Manufacturing Company in McLeansboro. She was a member of Sneed Church near McLeansboro. Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Saturday at Gholson Funeral Home in McLeansboro with the Rev. Robert Sefried officiating. Burial will be at IOOF Cemetery. Visitation will be 11 a.m. Saturday until the time of services at Gholson Funeral Home in McLeansboro. Memorials may be made to the donor’s choice and will be accepted at Gholson Funeral Home in McLeansboro.
