REVEREND GENE AUXIER, 83, of Belle Rive, Illinois, passed away at 12:45 A.M. on Saturday, July 7, 2012 at St. Mary’s Good Samaritan Hospital in Mount Vernon, Illinois. He was born on Sunday, December 23, 1928 in Dahlgren, Illinois, a son to the late George R. & Lora F. (Turner) Auxier. He married Daphne Tucker on April 16, 1948 in Mount Vernon, Illinois and she survives in Belle Rive along with Daughter: Diane Zillges and husband Larry of Opdyke, Illinois, Daughter-In-Law: Linda Auxier Lemay of Carterville, Illinois, five Grandchildren: Dawn Hamson and husband Reverend Jeremy of Belle Rive, Illinois Reverend Phillip Auxier and wife Meghan of Hutchison, Kansas, Holly Hendricks and husband Tod of Carterville, Illinois, Jodi Pressgrove and husband Ryan of Belle Rive, Illinois and Clint Auxier of Saint Louis, Missouri; twelve Great Grandchildren: Maggie and Noah Hamson, Riley and Rilan Pressgrove, Andrew, Gabriel Lauren and Caleb Auxier, Leah Bissey, Anna and Ethan Hendricks and Tyler Pinkerton; four Sisters-In-Law: Jessie Burkhead of Mount Vernon, Illinois, Mary Auxier of Centralia, Illinois, Phylis Tucker of Dahlgren, Illinois and Rosemary Tucker of Mount Vernon, Illinois; Brother-In-Law: J.A. Tucker and wife Jean of Mount Vernon, Illinois and Special Family Friend: Amy Auxier. Several Nieces and Nephews also survive. Along with his parents, two sons: Roger Auxier at birth and Rev. Rick Auxier, three brothers: Reverend William Auxier, George Auxier, Jr. and Donald Auxier, a sister-in-law: Elsie Auxier and three brothers-in-law: Lester Richardson, Jack Reynolds and Don Tucker preceded him in death. Rev. Auxier pastored several churches in Illinois over his 60 years as a Baptist Minister, including: Antioch, Pleasant Hill, Laird, New Hope in Dahlgren, Ina, Bluford, Zion Hill, Paradise Prairie, Ramsey, East Salem, Emmanuel of Sterling, Illinois, Woodlawn, Rend City and Liberty. He also served as an Associational Missionary in Salem South and Fairfield associations and was currently a member of Belle River Missionary Baptist Church. VISITATION will be from 5 to 8:00 P.M. Monday, July 9, 2012 at Hughey Funeral Home in Mount Vernon, Illinois. FUNERAL SERVICE will be held at 10:00 A.M. Tuesday, July 10, 2012 at Hughey Funeral Home in Mount Vernon, Illinois, with Reverend Jeremy Hamson, Reverend Phillip Auxier and Reverend Kenneth Holland officiating. INTERMENT will follow at Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Jefferson County, Illinois. MEMORIALS may be given to Liberty Baptist Church of Macedonia, Illinois or Belle Rive Missionary Baptist Church and will be accepted at the funeral home or mailed to Hughey Funeral Home, P.O.
