MRS. JULIA HERBST IS CALLED TO BEYOND HAD BEEN SICK FOR MORE THAN TWO-YEARS--FUNERAL TUESDAY MORNING Mrs. Julia Herbst, wife of Joe Herbst, proprietor of the Central Saloon, died at her home, 839 Morgan Oak Street, Sunday morning at 8:35 o’clock, after an illness of more than two years duration with dropsy and heart disease. The funeral will be held Tuesday morning, services to be at St. Mary’s Church on South Sprigg Street at 9 o’clock, conducted by Father E. Pruente. Burial will take place in St. Mary’s Cemetery. Mrs. Herbst was 57 years, 8 months and 12 days old. She was born in Hamilton County, Illinois, and came to Cape Girardeau with her parents when a young girl. Thirty three years ago she and Mr. Herbst were married, the wedding ceremony being said by Father Pruente in St. Mary’s Church. She leaves behind her husband, seven children-three boys, Leo of Perryville and Will and Herman of this city, and four daughters, Mrs. Joe Fremon of Piedmont and Mrs. Will Giboney, Mrs. Paul Besel and Miss Mary, who reside in Cape Girardeau. Five grandchildren are left to mourn her death. Her death certificate says she was the daughter of Ellis Person or Pierson and Mary Buchannon. Date of birth is 8-4-1858 and date of death is 4-16-1916.
