Lois Evelyn Johnson, 76, of O'Fallon, passed away at 4:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 22, 2009, at Belleville Memorial Hospital. She was born in Cora City on May 31, 1933, a daughter of Andrew and Mable (Pyron) Barringer. She married Ralph C. Johnson, and he survives. She was a retired bookkeeper for Auffenburg Ford in Belleville.Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Monday at Gholson Funeral Home in McLeansboro with the Rev. Randall Ragan officiating. Interment will follow at Old Hickory Hill Cemetery near Broughton.Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.In addition to her husband, Mrs. Johnson is survived by a son, Dennis R. Johnson and wife Donna Kay of Waterloo; a granddaughter, Mysty Johnson of Fairview Heights; brothers, Phil Barringer of St. Charles, Mo., and Lee Barringer of Belleville; and a sister, Hazel Duetch of O'Fallon.She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Lyle Barringer; and two sisters, Freida Fuerbacher and Edith Wood.For further information, you may contact Gholson Funeral Home at 643-2321.
