Christopher Ray Welch, 46, of McLeansboro, died Saturday, Oct. 3, 2009, at Barnes Hospital in St. Louis. He was born Oct. 3, 1963, in Carmi to Donald R. and Jacque (Harper) Welch. Survivors include his father, Donald R. Welch, McLeansboro; his mother and stepfather, Jacque and Bill Lamb of Florida; a daughter, Jordan Welch of Sesser; a son, Jason Welch of McLeansboro; a sister and brother-in-law, Belynda and Dick Hereford of St. Louis; a brother, Jeff Welch and companion Susan Hindick of McLeansboro; four nieces and a nephew; and several aunts, uncles and cousins. Chris was cremated; a memorial service will be held Thursday, Oct. 8, at 4 p.m. at St. James Episcopal Church in McLeansboro. The family has asked that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the American Cancer Society in his memory. Donations may be made at the church.
