Myrtle Bennett, 89, of Kansas City, Kan., and formerly of Dahlgren, passed away at 4:30 a.m. Sunday, at Garden Valley Manor in Kansas City.She was born in Hamilton County on May 14, 1920, a daughter of Paul and Hattie (Miller) Coker. She married Bill Bennett, an he preceded her in death. She was a homemaker.Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Gholson Funeral Home in McLeansboro with the Rev. Robert Sefried officiating. Interment will follow at I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Dahlgren.Visitation will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday until service time at the funeral home.Mrs. Bennett is survived by a son, Phillip Bennett and wife Sandy of Norris City; daughters, Linda Donovan and husband Ned of Kansas City, Kan., and Anna Mae Weatherholt of McLeansboro; five grandchildren, Jeanna Wright, Clifford and Marty Bennett, Tammy Miller and Mary Carter; eight great-grandchildren; and special friend, Mrs. Stevie Harris of Kansas City, Mo.She was preceded in death by her husband and two sisters.Mrs. Bennett was a member of the former Belle Prairie Methodist Church.For further information, you may contact Gholson Funeral Home at 643-2321.
