    3. IN MEMORIAM Robert Lee Guill, Sr., 91, of Mt. Vernon, Illinois passed away September 11, 2009 at St. Mary's Good Samaritan Hospital in Mt. Vernon, Illinois on his birthday. He was born in Boydsville, Arkansas on September 11, 1918 the son of the late Carson and Gertrude (Duncan) Guill and lived all of his life in Mt. Vernon, Illinois. He was married to Evelyn Carnes on February 22, 1936 and had been married for almost 74 years. Along with his wife Evelyn Louise Guill, he is survived by three daughters: Patricia Maddox and husband Dean, Marian Tennyson and husband Clyde all of Mt. Vernon, Illinois and Marilyn McElhaney and husband Rev. James of Springhill, Tennessee; one son: Robert Lee, Jr. and wife Connie of Midlothian, VA; six grandchildren: Jim McElhaney, II and wife Sandra of Shreveport, LA, Jonathan McElhaney and wife Mitzi of Franklin, TN, Marilyn Jane Martin and husband Samuel of Sugarhill, GA, Andrew Tennyson and wife Anna of Leesburg, VA, Aaron Tennyson and Lori Ann Payne and husband Rodney all of Mt. Vernon, Illinois and eight great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents and three grandchildren: Christopher Robert, Michelle and Ricky He owned and operated Bob Guill Insurance Agency. Robert was baptized into Christ in 1953 and had served his church for many years as Board Member and Sunday School Teacher and served in the European Theater of Operations as an M.P. with the U.S. Army during World War II from November 30, 1943 to November 1945 FUNERAL SERVICE: will be held 2:00 P.M. on Sunday, September 13, 2009 at Calvary United Pentecostal Church in Mt. Vernon, Illinois. Reverend Steve Edwards will officiate. INTERMENT: will follow at Richardson Hill Cemetery in Dahlgren, Illinois. The Chaplain of Mt. Vernon American Legion Post #141 will conduct a Flag Presentation Service at the cemetery. VISITATION: will be held from 1 to 2:00 P.M. Sunday, September 13, 2009 at Calvary United Pentecostal Church in Mt. Vernon, Illinois. For those who wish, memorials may be given to the Calvary United Pentecostal Church and will be accepted at the funeral home or may be mailed to Hughey Funeral Home, P.O. Box 721, Mt. Vernon, Illinois 62864.
