    3. Catherine Virginia Childers, 91, of McLeansboro, and formerly of Macedonia, passed away at 2:15 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 26, 2009, at her residence. She was born in East Prairie, Mo., on Feb. 20, 1918, a daughter of Clark and Mae (Irby) Brock. She married James Paul Childers in Mississippi County, Mo., on Oct. 5, 1940, and he preceded her in death on June 16, 1988. She was a housewife.Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Harre Funeral Home in McLeansboro with the Rev. Gary Davenport officiating. Burial will follow at Macedonia Cemetery in Macedonia.Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. tonight at the funeral home.Mrs. Childers is survived by three sons, Terry Childers and wife Pat of Collinsville, Donald Childers and wife Barbara of Mt. Vernon and Jim Childers and wife Vicki of McLeansboro; five daughters, Ann Roberson and husband Don of Mt. Vernon, Glenda Loftis of McLeansboro, Phyllis Kellison and husband Randy of Tilden, Judy Riechman and husband Steve of Richview and Sandy Shuster and husband Don of McLeansboro; 19 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; nine great-great-grandchildren; and one sister, Bessie Brock of Avon Park, Fla.She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; one son, Charles Blumenberg; two daughters, Sherry Miller and Cathy Childers; three sisters, Hazel Crawford, Louise Faire and Mary Johnson; three brothers, Cecil, Calvin and Melvin Brock; and one infant granddaughter, Holly Dawn Shuster.She was a member of Ten Mile Baptist Church.Harre Funeral Home in McLeansboro is in charge of all arrangements.
