Verdean Hunt, 83, of Wayne City, passed away at 10:33 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 23, 2009, at St. Mary's Good Samaritan Hospital in Centralia.She was born in Hamilton County on March 27, 1926, a daughter of Nolan and Gladys (Perry) Smith. She married Virgil Hunt, and he preceded her in death on Sept. 3, 1976. She was a homemaker.Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at Olive Branch Church in Wayne City with the Rev. Travis Hayes officiating. Burial will follow at Olive Branch Cemetery.Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday at Richardson Funeral Home in Wayne City.Mrs. Hunt is survived by three sons, Terry Hunt of Wayne City, Lanny Hunt of Salem, Mo., and Virgil Hunt Jr. of Wright City, Mo.; a daughter, Jerrilyn Scarbrough and husband Wayne of Wayne City; 11 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; a brother, Minford Smith of Wayne City; and two sisters, Rose Payne of Wayne City and Linda Sallee and husband Ken of Edgemont, S.D.She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one sister and one brother.
