Marlene Kilgore, 72, of McLeansboro, died at 11:34 p.m. Friday, Sept. 25, 2009, at her home in McLeansboro.She was born Jan. 29, 1937, in Becco, W. Va., the daughter of Millard Mosco and Georgia Leona (Waugh) Browning. She married Clarence Kilgore on March 12, 1955, and he preceded her in death.Mrs. Kilgore was retired as head custodian at Man Jr. High School in Man, W. Va.Private graveside services will be held Wednesday morning at Highland Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Logan, W. Va. Interment will follow.A private family gathering will be held Monday from 5 to 7 p.m. at Gholson Funeral Home in McLeansboro with Father William Malottke officiating.Mrs. Kilgore is survived by two sons, Michael Kilgore and wife Donna of Dahlgren and George G. Kilgore and wife Louise of Moss Point, Miss.; a daughter, Christine Hitt and husband Jason of Rockport, Ind.; a sister, Mrs. Boots Lewis of Decatur, Texas; a brother-in-law, Jim Bartlett of Newberry, Ohio; and 10 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a son, Kim Kenneth Kilgore; two brothers, Beul and Aubrey Browning; and a sister, Betty Bartlett.Gholson Funeral Home in McLeansboro is in charge of arrangements.
