The Rev. Joel V. Knepper, 89, of Tampa, Fla., passed away Thursday, Sept. 3, 2009. He was a World War II Navy veteran and had been a pastor and principal of Christian schools in Georgia, Florida, Michigan and North Carolina; the first church he pastored was in Dale. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Town & Country, Fla. Survivors include his loving wife of 60 years, Ramona (York); his sons, David (Julie) Knepper and Paul Knepper; his daughters, Libby (Don) Muller and Ruth Marquith; a sister, Naomi Knepper; a brother, Paul (Lynn) Knep-per; sister-in-law Shirley York; 14 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren. The funeral was Sept. 5 at Blount & Curry Funeral Home in Tampa, with burial at Sarasota Memorial Park. Memorial donations may be made in Joel's memory if you prefer to CBH Ministries, P.O.
