SESSER -- Altha "Billie" Taylor, 92, passed away Thursday, Nov. 26, 2009, in Countryside Manor in Mount Vernon. Altha was born Nov. 22, 1917, in Neeleyville, Mo., the daughter of Ed and May (Hines) Clark. She married Ralph Taylor. He preceded her in death Feb. 12, 1992. Altha was a homemaker and a member of First Baptist Church in Sesser. Survivors include her children, Larry and Bonnie Taylor of rural Benton and Don Taylor of Belle Rive; grandchildren, Rick and Sue Taylor of Woodland, Jennifer Taylor of rural Benton, Allen Taylor of Mount Vernon and Michael Ray Hawkins of Mount Vernon; and great-grandchildren, Raini and Bodi Hawkins. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; daughter-in-law, Peggy Taylor; three brothers; and three sisters. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Monday, Nov. 30, 2009, in First Baptist Church in Sesser, with the Rev. Clifford Burney officiating. Interment will be in Maple Hill Cemetery in Sesser. Visitation will be from 1 to 2 p.m. Monday at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Carmi Children's Home. Brayfield-Gilbert Funeral Home in Sesser is in charge of arrangements.
