s Marie Daily, 65, of Dahlgren, passed away at 1:04 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 26, 2009, at St. Mary's Good Samaritan Hospital in Mt. Vernon.She was born in Clarksville, Texas, on Aug. 7, 1944, a daughter of Richard and Mary Elizabeth (Pace) Phipps. She married Elmond Daily on May 15, 1962, in East St. Louis. She was a homemaker. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Sunday at Harre Funeral Home in McLeansboro with the Rev. Robert Sefried and Garlin Burris officiating. Burial will follow at Middle Creek Cemetery in McLeansboro. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.Doris is survived by her father, Richard Phipps of Granite City; her husband, Elmond of Dahlgren; two daughters, Pam Hart of Dahlgren and Tina Burris and husband Mike of Dahlgren; grandchildren, Amy Hart of Dahlgren, Christina and husband Roy Schuster, Jeremiah Burris of McLeansboro and Bethany Burris of Dahlgren; great-grandchildren, Marshall and Wyatt Schuster of McLeansboro; three sisters, Carol Pope and husband Bruce of Gastonia, N.C., Margaret Kachuba and husband Rick of Virginia Beach, Va., and Janet Smiddy and husband Mark of Granite City; and a brother, Gary Richard Phipps of Granite City.She was preceded in death by her mother.Doris attended Hopewell Missionary Baptist Church in McLeansboro. She loved her Lord, church, quilting and her family.Memorials may be made to Hopewell Baptist Church in McLeansboro and will be accepted at Harre Funeral Home, which is in charge of all arrangements.
