View/Sign Guest Book Martha Mae Shelton, 82, of Fairfield, died at 12:05 a.m. on Nov. 27, 2009, at Fairfield Memorial Hospital.She was a retired beautician and seamstress.Services will be held Sunday at 2 p.m. at Victory General Baptist Church in rural Geff with the Rev. Kenneth R. Holland officiating. Burial will follow immediately in the Victory Cemetery.Visitation will be at the church from 1 p.m. until the funeral service. Martha was born Feb. 26, 1927, near Cisne, to Glen S. and Alberta (McNeil) Smith. She married Luther D. Shelton in Bonnie on Oct. 12, 1943. He preceded he in death in 2003.She was a 50-year member of the Belle Rive 631 Order of the Eastern Star. She was devoted to her family and especially enjoyed sports and events with her great-grandchildren. She also enjoyed traveling, music, reading, crocheting, sewing and word games.Martha is survived by three daughters, Dr. Patricia and husband Stephen Hunt of Peoria, Linda and husband Gary Bopp of Fairfield and Flora Mae "Shelly" and husband Dennis Kaufman of Dahlgren; two sisters, Doris Redd of Plano, Texas, and Alberta "Abbie" Kiefer of Arlington, Texas; five grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and two step-great-grandchildren.In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents and sisters, Deloris Tapp and Mary Jackson.Memorials may be made to the Fairfield Memorial Library.Johnston Funeral Home in Ina is in charge of arrangements.
