William Boyer, or "Billy Joe" as we knew him was my first cousin. He had a sister Martha Jean that preceded him in death. His father was William Boyer, married to Mary Louise Gholson which was my aunt. She taught school in Hamilton County back in the 1930s. The family ran a shoe repair business on the corner of Washington St. near the square in McLeansboro for years. and then added appliance sales. Billy Joe's paternal grandparents also named William Boyer was married to Mary Tennyson. (No other info) Billy Joe's maternal grandparents were Emily Caroline (Viers) Wilson the grandfather, Floyd B. Gholson, also my grandparents.
