    3. Ruth M. Young, age 90, of McLeansboro, passed away at 5:43 a.m. on Dec. 9, 2009, at Wabash Christian Retirement Center in Carmi.She was born in Hamilton County on Aug. 5, 1919, the daughter of James J. and Leta Mae (Page) Biggerstaff. She married T. J. Young on Feb. 16, 1941, and he preceded her in death. She was a retired telephone operator, having worked at Manteno State Hospital. Mrs. Young was a member of the Hamilton County Extension and First General Baptist Church in McLeansboro.Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday at the First General Baptist Church in McLeansboro with the Revs. Ken Cook and Billie Duncan officiating. Interment will follow at IOOF Cemetery in McLeansboro.Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. Saturday at Gholson Funeral Home in McLeansboro and from 2 p.m. until service time Sunday at the church.Mrs. Young is survived by sons, James Young and wife Deborah of Ocala, Fla., and Bob Young and wife Paula of Carmi; five grandchildren, Tamera Sandrof and husband Nick, James A. Young, Jared L. Young and wife Stefanie, Paul D. Young, Stephanie L. Evans and husband Derrick; two step grandchildren, Jennett Ippolito and husband Anthony and Garrett McKeever; one great-grandson, Jason Sandrof and wife Amy; one great-granddaughter Jillian Maloney and husband Paul; two step great-grandchildren, Nicholas Ippolito and Adriana Ippolito; and one sister, Mabel Cambell of Calhoun.She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, three brothers and one sister.Memorials may be made to the Wabash Christian Retirement Center and will be accepted at Gholson Funeral Home, which is in charge of all arrangements.
