Betty Ann Hamilton, 74, of McLeansboro, passed away at 5:20 a.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 15, 2009, at St. Mary's Good Samaritan Hospital in Mt. Vernon.She was born in McLeansboro on May 9, 1935, a daughter of Harry Lee and Hazel (Cluck) Robinson. She married William "Bill" Hamilton on Jan. 15, 1955, and he preceded her in death on Oct. 23, 2004. She was a homemaker.Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Harre Funeral Home in McLeansboro with the Rev. Robert Sefried officiating. Burial will follow at Knights Prairie Cemetery in McLeansboro.Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.Mrs. Hamilton is survived by two sons, Richard Hamilton and wife Sharon of Hixson, Tenn., and Charles Michael Hamilton and wife Michele of Oceanside, Calif.; one grandson, Noah Eugene Hamilton; one sister, Doris Jane Millenbine of Mattoon; and one sister-in-law, Carol Sue Robinson of Du Quoin. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Bill; and one brother, Charles Lee "Lil Cut" Robinson.Mrs. Hamilton was a member of the First Baptist Church of McLeansboro. In earlier years, she loved to walk, participate in sports and most of all she loved to smile.Memorials may be made to the Multiple Sclerosis Foundation and will be accepted at Harre Funeral Home, which is in charge of all arrangements.
