Sandy Glassford, 66, of McLeansboro, passed away at 9:15 a.m. Sunday, Dec. 20, 2009, at Hamilton Memorial Hospital in McLeansboro.She was born at Emporia, Kan., on Dec. 15, 1943, the daughter of Herbert and Kathleen (Townsend) Gould. She married Frederick "Joe" Glassford on Nov. 28, 1964, in Danville. Sandy taught at McLeansboro High School since 1974 and was involved in the Success Program. She was a member of St. James Episcopal Church in McLeansboro.As per request of the deceased, Sandy will be cremated and memorial services will be announced and held at a later date.Sandy is survived by her husband, Joe Glassford of McLeansboro; one son, Mark Glassford and wife Connie of Silver Hill, Ala.; one sister, Sue Hamilton and husband Chuck of Carterville; her mother Kathleen Townsend Gould of Daphne, Ala.; three brothers, Ron Gould and wife Penny of Bloomington, Rick Gould and wife Sue of Fenton, Mo., Scott Gould of Daphne, Ala.; three grandchildren, Lily, Samuel and Noah Glassford of Silver Hill, Ala.She was preceded in death by her father.In lieu of flowers, memorials are requested for St. James Episcopal Church and will be accepted at Harre Funeral Home or the church.Harre Funeral Home in McLeansboro is in charge of all arrangements.
