Just wanted to let everyone know that the "Illinois Gazette" books are now out. These books contain gleanings from the early Shawneetown newspaper between the years 1819-1830. Thank you to everyone who pre-ordered the books. They should go in the mail Monday or Tuesday. Ordering information is available at the Hamilton County Historical Society website at http://www.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~ilhchs/IllinoisGazette1819-1830order.pdf ************** In other news, we now have Micki Faruzzi working at our genealogy library from 11-4 p.m. MTThF and volunteers working on Wednesdays from 1-4 p.m. We are in the middle of a major reorganization project at the genealogy library that should make our resources more user-friendly and easier to find. In addition, the Hamilton County Historical Society has recently errected signs in Walpole and one replacing a sign designating the first place of county government in the home of John Anderson. This sign replaces a sign originally erected about 1981. I ordered one of these books about a month ago and was wondering how long it will take to receive it? Thanks.
