MCLEANSBORO - Lyle S. Conner, 73, of McLeansboro, formerly of Springfield, passed away Friday, March 12, 2010, at 12:53 a.m. at the Deaconess Hospital in Evansville, Ind. Lyle was born Oct. 6, 1936, in Buffalo Hart, the son of Jessie Lyle and Ruth Pauline (Burris) Conner. He married Wilma Joyce Shelton on Jan. 24, 1960. Lyle was a carpenter, working out of the Mount Vernon Local Union 636. He was also a member of the Springfield Local Union 16. Surviving are his wife of 50 years, Joyce of McLeansboro; three daughters and son-in-law, Kim Hylton of Springfield, Kindra Denham of McLeansboro and Kris and Michael Monson of Chatham; nine grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held at Campbell Funeral Home in Norris City on Saturday, March 13, 2010. Burial was in Mount Oval Cemetery. Published in The State Journal-Register on 3/14/2010
