Owen Sodders, age 87, of Ferndale, Mich., passed away on March 6, 2010, in Beverly Hills, Mich. Owen was born on March 10, 1922, in Dahlgren to George and Alice (Adcox) Sodders. He was a highly decorated World War II veteran with over 100 bombing missions in Europe and Asia and a longtime member and former Grand Master of Masonic Lodge 570 of Hazel Park.Owen was the husband of the late Doris (Davis) Sodders and the late Irene (Paczkowski) Sodders; father of Barbara (Douglas) Kellerman and the late Judith (Sodders) Mattice; stepfather of Dianne (Wayne) McLendon; grandfather of Kevin (Janet) Kellerman, Carin (Marc) Edelstein, Susan Kellerman, Dennis Bersche, Amy Soniat, Cheri Sloan, Denise Bersche and the late Daniel Kellerman; stepgrandfather of Daniel (Jodi) McLendon, Deborah (Christopher) Kilby, and Tara (Tony) Mazzorana; and great-grandfather of 16.Owen is pre-deceased by his brothers, Frank (Beulah) Sodders, Otis (Lucille) Sodders, Ted (Blanche) Sodders, Paul (Irene) Sodders; and his sister, Ruth (Charles) Howell.Visitation will be held today from 2 to 9 p.m. at Hopcroft Funeral Home, 23919 John R. Road, Hazel Park, Mich. A Masonic service will be held on Tuesday at 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 11 a.m. at the funeral home.
