Darlene Nalley, 75, of McLeansboro, died at 1:33 a.m. Sunday, Jan. 10, 2010, at St. Mary's Good Samaritan Hospital in Mt. Vernon.She was born Nov. 5, 1934, in Macedonia, the daughter of Roy and Ora (Winemiller) Reed. She married Whyman Nalley on July 8, 1949, in Clay County Ark., and he preceded her in death on Sept. 13, 1975.Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday at Harre Funeral Home in McLeansboro with the Rev. John Smith officiating.Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.Interment will be at Maple Ridge Cemetery in Carmi.Darlene is survived by a son, Jerry Nalley of McLeansboro; two daughters, Judy Smith and husband Danny and Kathy Brewer, all of McLeansboro; eight grandchildren, Clinton, Curtis and Aaron Brewer, Jeremiah Shields, Jack and Whitnee Shulman and Daniel and Brittanie Nalley; six great-grandchildren, Ethan and Isaiah Shields, Jada Nalley and Kacey, William and Ryan Brewer; four brothers, Curt Reed and wife Janet of McLeansboro, Robert Reed and wife Evadene of Mt. Vernon, LeRoy Reed and wife Lennie of north Chicago and Orval "Buck" Reed of McLeansboro; and a sister, Pearl Blackwell of Ina. Several nieces and nephews also survive.She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; son, Terry Nalley; and daughter, Barbara Nalley.Darlene worked as a housekeeper and as a coal miner for Inland Steel. She was a member of Ten Mile Baptist Church. Darlene loved cooking, gardening and sewing. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family of Darlene Nalley and will be accepted at the funeral home.Harre Funeral Home in McLeansboro is in charge of arrangements. Published in the Mt.
