Paul L. Crabtree, 77, of McLeansboro, passed away at 10:40 a.m. Friday, Nov. 18, 2011, at Hamilton Memorial Nursing Center in McLeansboro. He was born June 27, 1934, in West Frankfort, to Odie and Jesse Crabtree. He married Shirley A. Gunter on Nov. 7, 1959, in Kankakee, and she survives. He was a retired truck driver and construction worker, and enjoyed collecting John Deere items and primitive tools. He was a member of the Baptist faith. Paul and wife Shirley moved to McLeansboro in 1996 to be near Shirley's family. In addition to his wife, he is survived by special nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, two half-brothers, Wayne and Carl; and three half-sisters, Ferol, Freda and Doria. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Monday, Nov. 21, at Gholson Funeral Home in McLeansboro with the Rev. Robert Sefried officiating. Interment will follow at Pleasant Grove Cemetery near McLeansboro. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday at Gholson Funeral Home..
