    3. Mr. and Mrs. Lavern Peters will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary with an open house from 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 12, at their home. Lavern Peters and Judy Murphy were united in marriage by the Rev. Ray Wilkey at Dahlgren Baptist Church on Nov. 5, 1961. Lavern retired in 1999 from Wabash Valley Service Co. Judy retired in 2000 from Peoples National Bank. They are the parents of two children, Brad Peters of Irvington and Cheryl (Tony) Swafford of Danville, and have five grandchildren, Lindsay (Kyle) Arndt of Lake Bluff, Bradley Peters of Murphysboro, Mitchell Swafford of Danville, and Haeley and Brandon Peters of Irvington. All family and friends are invited to share in the celebration.
