MT. VERNON - Stephen Knight lost his battle with cancer at his home surrounded by family Wednesday morning, Dec. 28, 2011. He was born in Carbondale on Nov. 16, 1966, the son of David and Sharon Knight of Dale. Steve is survived by his wife of 22 years, Tami, and daughters Chelsea and Lindsay, all of Toledo. He is also survived by his parents; sister, Jena Knight; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and other extended family. Steve was a veteran of the U.S. Army, where he served in both Desert Shield and Desert Storm in Saudi Arabia and Iraq. The great loves in Steve's life were his girls, their softball and hunting. A memorial service will be held for Steve at 1 p.m. Jan. 7 at McLeansboro Freedom Baptist Church on Route 142 North. Please come share your memories and celebrate Steve's life.
