Patricia Catheline Gibbs, 59, of Opdyke, Illinois passed away at her home on Sunday, December 4, 2011 in Opdyke, Illinois. Catheline was born on Saturday, February 9, 1952 in Mt. Vernon, Illinois the daughter of the late William A. and Lucille (Cluck) Gilbert. She married Gary Gibbs on March 25, 1972 at Calvary United Pentecostal Church in Mt. Vernon, Illinois. Surviving family members include her husband: Gary Gibbs of Opdyke, Illinois; daughters: Stephanie McGee of Opdyke, Illinois and Stacie Woodrome and husband Aaron of Mt. Vernon, Illinois; grandchildren: Mikayla Ford and Kayden McGee both of Opdyke, Illinois and Preston Woodrome of Mt. Vernon, Illinois; mother-in-law: Zella Mae Gibbs of McLeansboro, Illinois; brother: Bill Gilbert and wife Joyce of Effingham, Illinois; sister: Madlyn Dueene Shields and husband Ivan of Roscoe, Illinois; several nieces and nephews also survive. Her parents, one brother: Robert "Rocky" Gilbert, one sister: Nadine Jenkins and her father-in-law: Merril L. Gibbs preceded her in death. Mrs. Gibbs worked as a bookkeeper and a bank teller. She was a member of Clavary United Pentecostal Church and of the Pioneer Singing Group. VISITATION: will be held from 5 to 8:00 P.M. on Tuesday, December 6, 2011 at Hughey Funeral Home in Mt. Vernon, Illinois. FUNERAL SERVICES: will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Wednesday, December 7, 2011 at Calvary United Pentecostal Church in Mt. Vernon, Illinois. Reverend Steve Edwards will officiate. INTERMENT: Oakwood Cemetery in Mt. Vernon, Illinois.
