Sunday, Dec. 4, 2011, at her home. She was born Saturday, Feb. 9, 1952, in Mt. Vernon, the daughter of William A. and Lucille (Clark) Gilbert. She married Gary Gibbs on March 25, 1973, at Calvary United Pentecostal Church in Mt. Vernon. Mrs. Gibbs worked a bookkeeper and a bank teller. She was a member of Calvary Pentecostal Church and of the Pioneers Singing Group. She is survived by her husband; daughters, Stephanie McGee of Opdyke and Stacie Woodrome and husband Aaron of Mt. Vernon; grandchildren, Mikayla Ford of Opdyke, Kayden McGee of Opdyke, and Preston Woodrome of Mt. Vernon; mother-in-law, Zella Mae Gibbs of McLeansboro; brother, Bill Gilbert and wife Joyce of Effingham; and sister, Madlyn Dueene Shields and husband Ivan of Roscoe. Several nieces and nephews also survive. She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Robert "Rocky" Gilbert; one sister, Nadine Jenkins; and father-in-law, Merril L. Gibbs. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 7, at Calvary United Pentecostal Church in Mt. Vernon with Rev. Steve Edwards officiating. Interment will be at Oakwood Cemetery in Mt. Vernon. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 6, at Hughey Funeral Home in Mt. Vernon.
