    3. EVANSVILLE, Ind. - Paul "P.D." Ritchey, 80, of Evansville, Ind., passed away at 4:30 a.m. Friday, Nov. 25, 2011, at his home. He was born Dec. 8, 1930, in Dahlgren, the son of Arley and Cecile (Lowry) Ritchey. Paul was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving during the Korean War, and a member of American Legion Eugene Pate Post 265. He was a 34-year member of Aldersgate United Methodist Church. Paul had worked for the railroad for 40 years, starting at L&N Railroad in 1949 and retiring from CSX Railroad in 1989. He enjoyed watching sports and was an avid McLeansboro Foxes and University of Evansville Aces basketball fan. What he loved most was spending time his family. They will miss him greatly and cherish his memory. He is survived by his beloved wife of 60 years, Aleta Ritchey of Evansville; daughters Paula Lyle (Dennis) of Carterville and their sons, Kristopher (Laura) and Matthew, and Myra Taber (Bruce) of Newburgh, Ind., and their children, Allyson and Todd; sister Arlene Clemons of Springfield; brothers Leroy Ritchey (Deloris) of McLeansboro and Jerry Ritchey (Carol) and Jimmy Ritchey, all of Mt. Vernon; and great-granddaughter Lily Lyle. He was preceded in death by his parents and great-granddaughter Sophie Lyle. Funeral services were Monday at Aldersgate United Methodist Church, 5130 Lincoln Ave., Evansville, with the Rev. Mitch Gieselman officiating. Burial was in White County Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Carmi. Boone Funeral Home of Evansville handled the arrangements. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Aldersgate United Methodist Church. Condolences may be made to the family online at boonefuneralhome.net.
