John Wolff Bartonville ------ John D. Wolff 89, formerly of Bartonville, died at 10:30 p.m. Thursday, April 12, 2001. at Hallmork House Nursing Center in Pekin, where he was a residence. Born June17, 1911 in McLeansboro to Edmond Joseph Wolff and Lydia J. Maulding. He married Nellie D. Gianessi on June12, 1948 in Peoria. She died April 14, 1997 in Pekin. Two sisters and three brothers also preceded him in death. Surviving are one stepson, Ray Funk of Little Rock, Ark. one nephew, Allen Shonet of Creve Coeur. one neice Dorothy Goddard of Tennessee state; and his caregivers. Chuck and Betty Gold on Bartonville. A member of Limestone American Legion Post 979. he was a World War 2 army veteran with rank of coropal serving from 1942 to 1945. He was a carpenter working out of Carpenters Local 183 for more then 30 years, retiring in 1979. He also was a farmer for many years. He wasa former member of Hollis Consolidated School Board of Education and Hollis Township Board of Trustees. He had served on the Tuscarora Volunteer Fire Department for several years. He also was a member of the Peoria County Farm Bureau.. He was a member of the St. Anthony Catholic Church in Bartonvill. A funeral Masswill be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at his church. The rev. Ronad Palmer will officate.
