Neva: The line of Johnson's in Hamilton County I am through comes from Robert Johnson born 1792, son of John Johnson (b 1763 in NC). He would be the right age, and had a son named James born 1847. As such, assuming Hamilton County Johnson's and the same general time frame, apparently "your" James is not the same. However, I'm new at the family history game for Johnson's and while I don't know much yet, I do recall that Robert had an older brother Isaac Johnson (b ca 1785) who also lived in Hamilton County. Perhaps someone else can contribute more of Isaac's tree, which might be of more help to you. Good luck. Thanks, Kent. I haven't searched much for James Johnson, as I descend from James Smith and Maryann Crisel. James Johnson and Maryann Crisel had 2 sons James and George Johnson. They were married in Hamilton Co. When she married James Smith it was Jefferson Co. I just wondered what happend to James Johnmson.
