Hi, I have a general question about GEDCOMS, I am running Family tree maker 8.0. And I was reading the instructions on backing up to a floppy incase something happened to this DARN computer. So, I did back up. But, I am not sure if I backed up correctly. When I went in and started adding information on the family lines. Which extended the starting line. I was able to link GGGrandparents on one side to the other side. And so forth and so on. But when, this DARN computer crashed, I reloaded everything and the only thing that was saved is the original starting point. What did I do wrong. Can any one point me in the right direction? Or be able to send me to the library to find a book on this? That explains it in English. Not computer ese? Thanks Maureen
