    3. As usual, Carol has done a remarkable job with the Yesterdays site. I love the music. Thank you, Carol. Well, I have found a dandy this time! In May, 1900, the McLeansboro Times published a supplement edition of which 4,000 copies were printed. These were mailed across the country as an enticement for those who wished to change their locations. This is a very rare publication. > > It gives a wonderful account of life in McLeansboro in 1900 and the progress made between the years 1886-1900. It highlights businesses and professional men and county officers, etc. There is also a section on the beautiful homes in McLeansboro. In total there are 82 photos and most of the photos were taken especially for this edition. > > Rather than split this up and place the photos and bios. throughout the site, I decided to place the work in its entirety and to be as faithful to the original format as was possible. > > It has taken me a while to get this posted and I know you will just love this as much as I do! > > In addition, there are updates in other categories as well: Photos, Marriages, Mexican War. > Check out the update section. > > Enjoy! > > Carol Lee Yarbrough > > Yesterdays of Hamilton Co., IL > http://carolyar.com/Illinois/HamiltonCounty.htm > > > > ==== ILHAMILT Mailing List ==== > Listowner, Michael L. 3. Phyllis and Carol, I love the photos of the old homes. I see several of them everytime I go through McLeansboro but never knew which house was part of what family. In particular I want to see if the house near the old high school, about a block off the highway to Mt. Vernon, which is obviously a George Franklin Barber design--he did the Castle in Carmi and Gray House in Grayville and Arthurs mansion in Mt. Vernon--is in the book. It is a Queen Anne and shingle style. Cindy Birk Conley Carmi, IL Phyllis Campbell wrote: > > As usual, Carol has done a remarkable job with the Yesterdays site.
