I received a call today from the Illinois Comptroller's office today asking me the condition of the Old McLeansboro Cemetery, I believe it is also called Founders Cemetery. This office regulates some state funding of cemeteries especially old ones. In that I am six hours from the cemetery, I told him I would ask this list because someone closer may be able to respond. He would like to organize a day where maintenance and cleanup is done. I told him I knew it needed a new sign and some sort of fencing to keep cars from parking in the cemetery. My ggggrandmother was Sarah Moore Heard Allen Blacker about whom we have had many conversations on this list. Her stone and James Heard 's are about all that remains in the old cemetery. Does anyone else have any interest in the condition of this old cemetery??? Look forward to your replies. Joan Bodenlos
