I'm not sure what the problem might be. I just subbed to the list using one of my AOL addresses and successfully requested the help file. Maybe try it again and CC me on it so I can see what is actually getting sent. There could have been a problem sending to AOL at the time of your request and the Rootsweb server gave up after one try ... unlike regular list traffic which it will put in a queue to try later if it has problems. The server doesn't seem to care if the request is plain text or not and doesn't seem to mind signatures. If others are having a problem with it, let me know.
