Anyone researching the Gaines or Shroyer families? Gibson Gaines came from Botetourt/Roanoke Co., Va. in 1848. Wife, Ann Thrasher had died in Va. 1845, came with seven kids. Settled in Hamilton Co, (Broughton area). John Shroyer, my gr. grandfather, lived in Broughton, his father Daniel Shroyer did for a short time. John born 1853, Lawrence Co, Ill. died Hamilton Co.
