Okay, I really need help this time. I thought I had Martin COONS, Sr. all figured out. He was married to Mary (Polly) Locke on April 4, 1796 in Jefferson County, KY. Son of Jacob COONS and Letitia KEMPER. That's what I thought for a long time. Along comes another 'researcher cousin' who says my Martin was not the son of Jacob, but the son of Adam COONS. Too many Martins running around. Can anyone help me search for more information on Martin in Hamilton County. I know he was there with part of his family in the 1840s. Allegedly he was lost on the Mississippi in 1846. His widow is buried in Cartwright Cemetery close to a son, Warden. His son, John, died in Hamilton County. Does anyone know what churches were in existence in the 1840s in Hamilton County? Is there another place I can look to verify his parents (whomever they were). Thanks Everyone! Sharlene Coontz Meyer
